Kurt Vile Listening Party

Lansdowne’s native son, KURT VILE, is bringing his hometown into the spotlight with the new jawn, “Philadelphia’s Been Good to Me.” It’s hitting record store racks soon, but next Wednesday, May 20 at 5 p.m., you and your friends can join us for the chance to check it out as we’re hosting an ADVANCE LISTENING PARTY!

In addition to listening to the new Kurt Vile album, we’ll have prizes and giveaways. Sounds like a terrific lowkey Wednesday!

We’re excited to host an album signing with Annika Bennett on Thursday, April 2nd at 4 p.m. (PLEASE NOTE THAT NEW TIME IS 4 P.M.)  prior to her show with Madison Cunningham at Ardmore Music Hall!

About Annika Bennett 

Originally from New York and now based in Los Angeles, Annika Bennett is a singer, songwriter, and producer whose work is a masterclass in modern storytelling. Blending elements of pop, folk, country, and indie, everything she creates is something uniquely her own.

Annika first established herself as a formidable force in the writers’ room, penning standout tracks for artists such as Chappell Roan (“Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl”), Lauv (“Love U Like That”), Role Model (“Sally, When the Wine Runs Out”, “Look At That Woman”), ILLIT (“Lucky Girl Syndrome”), and LE SSERAFIM & j-hope (“SPAGHETTI”).

In 2024, Annika released her debut album Live From Mother Earth, a body of work that’s both raw and intimate. The album features the track “A Tree Falls,” which was produced by John Mayer. Most recently, she released her self-written and self-produced EP, Triple Shooting Star (November 2025). The eight-track project captures the evolution of her sound, a raw, expansive, and deeply personal journey that marks her most ambitious work to date.

A seasoned performer, Annika has toured internationally supporting Sabrina Carpenter, Role Model, Medium Build, Leith Ross, and is currently supporting Madison Cunningham. As she continues to build toward future releases, Annika Bennett cements her place as a singular and emotionally resonant voice in today’s musical landscape.

 

2025 Year-End Recap

2025 was our first full year in our new store at 19 N. Lansdowne Avenue and we couldn’t be more grateful for the continued loyalty of our customers!

Although we still miss the fabulous theater space we had at our original spot, our new cozy space was perfect for the great music and movie events we hosted all year long.

Here’s a look back at the memorable moments that we shared in 2025!

Dinner and a movie in Lansdowne? Absolutely! Through a partnership with our friends at Jamey’s House of Music, we presented an independent film screening series every fifth Thursday of the month at Jamey’s. We enjoyed pre-show dinners, movies from local filmmakers, and Q & A sessions with the filmmakers following the screenings. Films included “Heart of the Beat” with David Uosikkinen, “Standing in the Shadows of Motown,” “Music From the Inside Out,” and “The Wages of Spin.”

We listened with fellow fans to many new albums before their drop dates. The Listening Parties featured music by Lucy Dacus, The Head and The Heart, Benson Boone, Gigi Perez, Jonas Brothers, Twenty One Pilots, Peanuts/Vince Guaraldi, Florence + The Machine, “Wicked For Good,” and more, and included free giveaways and raffles for great band merch.

We presented a pop-up acoustic performance by Lansdowne’s Bob Beach and David Jacobs-Strain, hosted RSD Black Friday and Record Store Day events, a Kids Music Day Craft, and stayed open late for, and held sales on, Small Business Saturday, the Night Markets, African Caribbean Festival, and Lansdowne’s first Open Studios | Open Town | Open Sound event – a walkable celebration of Lansdowne’s creative community!

2025 was a fun year but we’re looking forward to an even better 2026! With the recent reopening of the Lansdowne Theater, we plan to have extended evening hours on most show nights, host more Listening Parties, movie nights, in-store performances, album release parties, trivia nights, and more!

Evening Shopping Hours During Lansdowne Winter Light Parade, Tree Lighting & Night Market

Join us in Lansdowne on December 13th for the LBPA‘s Annual Winter Extravaganza and evening shopping hours!

Begining at 5 p.m., shop the Night Market complete with handcrafted and original pieces from local merchants.

Then at 6 p.m., watch as we “Illuminate the Avenue” in the center of town with the Winter Lights Parade, light the Christmas tree and menorah, and get a visit from Santa, all at the Landing (30 N. Lansdowne Avenue)! There will be music by DJ Joe Foley, hot cider, and food for sale.

Bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots and non-perishable food items for the local
food pantry.

We will close at 4 p.m. and reopen at 5 p.m. and stay open until 8:30 p.m. during the festivites so come out and shop for everyone on your holiday gift list! Everyone who makes a purchase will get a 20% off coupon for their next visit!

Small Business Saturday Sale

Small Business Saturday is a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities.

Come Shop Small with us in Lansdowne on November 29th! It’s a great day to pick up some holiday gifts and maybe something special for yourself.

We’ll have snacks and drinks all day AND we’ll be taking 20% off all new and used vinyl (sale not eligible on Record Store Day Black Friday releases.)

Florence + The Machine Listening Party

We are so excited to announce that we will be hosting a Listening Party for “Everybody Scream” by Florence + The Machine on Friday, October 31st at 4 p.m.

Since it’ll be Halloween, we encourage attendees to come dressed in a costume as we’ll hold a costume contest! Come in your spookiest and scariest for a chance to win a fun prize!

All attendees will receive some cool band merch too!

Peanuts Listening Party

Peanuts is celebrating 75 years so we’re hosting a PEANUTS ANNIVERSARY LISTENING PARTY on Saturday, October 18, at NOON.

Shop a variety of Peanuts/Vince Guaraldi album titles and fun Peanuts-themed merch!

All attendees will receive a cool sticker and we’ll have a special poster that’s been created for the occasion for anyone who purchases at least two of the featured titles while supplies last!
