Author Event with Jay Nachman

Join author Jay Nachman for a Pop-Up Book Event on Saturday, December 12th, from 4-9 p.m. during the Winter Night Market/Winter Light Parade and Tree Lighting.

Author of “Graham Parker’s Howlin’ Wind,” Nachman will talk about all things music framed around Graham Parker’s musical influences and those of the members of his backup band, The Rumor, against a backdrop of the British and American music scenes in the 1960s and 1970s.

He’ll also discuss favorite albums, bands, concerts and songs, various music scenes, and what makes a song a hit and a musician a star.

In the Village Voice’s year-end 1976 Pazz & Jop Critics’ Poll, Graham Parker’s debut album “Howlin’ Wind” placed fourth. In second place was his sophomore album, “Heat Treatment.” Number one was Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life,” and in third place was Jackson Browne’s “The Pretender.” Among that titanic company, it’s fair to say Parker more than held his own.

Books will be available for sale at the event.
