11:30 a.m. – The Sean Taylor Experience – The Sean Taylor Experience is the personal project of Sean Taylor, a singer/songwriter from New Jersey. Heartfelt, soulful lyrics and sound are the most prevalent throughout his work. Without being tagged down to one certain genre, Sean Taylor aims to blend multiple genres throughout his work to give listeners a wide breath of sound to take in. He is most influenced by Soul, Alternative RnB, and Psychedelic Rock, however, that all can change if he finds something inspiring at any given time. His voice is his centerpiece being able to slip in and out of falsetto to melt hearts while being able to belt at the top of his range that listeners can feel it in their bones.
12:30 p.m. – The Funky Rebels – Funky Rebels is a newly formed band comprised of Philadelphia and New Jersey musicians (Feenix – rapper/producer, Danny Varughese – guitarist). They met at World Cafe Live’s weekly Philly Rising open mic night where they periodically performed together during their sets. Despite coming from different backgrounds such as rapping and producing, singer-songwriting, and pop punk, the Funky Rebels have managed to create a sound that successfully blends these genres and will be sure to have you singing along and on your feet by the end of the tune!
1:30 p.m. – MLC – Playing cover songs from the Lumineers to Rod Stewart, you’re gonna want to sing along!
3:00 – Big Terrible – While you’re shopping, enjoy a live performance by Big Terrible, a blues-soaked heavy rock band from Philadelphia. The power trio consists of brothers Dan and Tim Lynam, on guitar and drums respectively, as well as their childhood neighbor Jon Dumoff on lead vocals and bass. Since their formation in 2006, Big Terrible has been a stand out in the local hard rock/indie scene due to their expert technical skills and good ole-fashioned songwriting. Their most recent album, Monument was released in March 2015 and is an addition to their impressive collection of releases such as Rotten City in 2013 and Face the Stone in 2009. Fun fact: one of their EPs was produced by Bill Moriarty from Dr. Dog!
